The Pod

Lüng™ is hand-assembled in a converted dairy in upstate New York. The shell is a single piece of vapor-pressed walnut wrapped around a medical-grade stainless chamber. There is no screen. There is, instead, a single brushed-brass dial.
- Negative-pressure cycling. A near-silent bellows draws the chest wall outward in 4.7-second intervals, calibrated to your resting heart rate.
- Circadian airflow. Atmosphere shifts mineral content across the day — magnesium-leaning in the morning, lithium-adjacent at dusk.
- Acoustic envelope. A 38dB noise floor and a low sub-bass hum tuned to the resonant frequency of the human sternum.

- No connectivity. Lüng™ does not connect to your phone, your home, or the internet. This is on purpose. This is, in fact, the entire point.

Recline. Close the cedar hatch. The chamber pressurizes over 90 seconds — roughly the duration of a meaningful exhale.

The bellows engages. Your respiratory rate is gently entrained downward. You will, for perhaps the first time this quarter, do nothing.

FAQ
Reasonable questions, answered.
Is Lüng™ a medical device?
No. Lüng™ is a wellness object. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It does, however, look extremely composed in a sunlit room.
Is this an iron lung?
The iron lung was a 20th-century medical intervention for paralytic poliomyelitis. Lüng™ is a 21st-century respiratory wellness pod for the high-performing knowledge worker. The two are not the same. The two are, in some senses we won't get into here, related.
How large is the pod?
92 inches long, 34 inches wide, 41 inches tall. It will fit through a standard residential doorway with the hinges removed and a friend who is willing to help.
What if I'm claustrophobic?
The cedar hatch can be left ajar. The Settle protocol can be run with the chamber fully open. Many of our members report that the gentle enclosure is, after the first session, the part they look forward to most.
Can two people use it at once?
Lüng™ is designed for one occupant. We have, however, seen things.
What happens if I cancel?
The pod is returned to us, at your expense, in its original packaging. The packaging is also walnut. We will email you a 14-page exit reflection survey. It is optional. Most members complete it.
